OMG A female President?

Two more days until we know the President of the United States. Two More Days!

This election has me appalled, disgusted, and horrified how this country's highest honor was shit on by the GOP nominee. When it's all said and done: It was Republicans' fault a lying misogynist, racist who stirred devotees to frightful frenzy against women. We cannot go back now!

Millennials: The 2016 election season is NOT how we do things in this Country! I apologize for my generation.  Can we pretend it never happened?

The hateful diatribe has never been part of the process! At the center, we are all Americans and somehow we lost the respect for each other and for the office of leader of our free country.

This election has cost me a lot: A 20-year friendship. Fights with women in my family, (How could a woman be for the Donald Trump? I guess name-calling is okay with them.) Oh, and, my mental health.

My Mom calls me the Feminist of the family, a moniker I proudly assume. I have marched on Washington twice with tens of thousands of women trying to get the country to understand women are equal to men. We cannot go back!

It has been my life, my honor, and my quest in life to prove women are (better lol) equal to men! After living with discrimination my whole life, things have gotten so much better for us.

My first election of Democrat incumbent President Jimmy Carter vs. Ronald Reagan. I had waited years to be able to vote and I was so excited, so I understand the commitment, and how it feels to be 18 and voting for the first time. Thank the female suffragettes for gaining women the right to vote in the 1900s. We cannot go back.

Of course, I was for Carter.  But Reagan whipped Carter in a landslide and the 'Reagan Revolution' began. That revolution still brings staunch Republicans to their knees, lifting their heads toward the heavens.

Now in our 50s, my generation always believed a woman would break the highest glass ceiling! We FINALLY have a chance!  (Yes. Tears welled in my eyes.)  Forty-four of the past 45 Presidents have been men! How friggin' equal is that?

Poor Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton, who has been hit with a concerted effort to convince Americans to hate her, since she was the first lady in Arkansas, when her husband Bill was governor.  (Hopefully he will be First Man? Ironic, it would be. :)

Millennials have grown up listening to consistent barrage of anti-Hillary bullshit. They outnumber Baby Boomers now, and could out-vote both major party contenders.

Needless to say, I was shocked when a niece sent out anti-Clinton posts.

I explained how I have fought for her to be able to be the woman she is today. She wrote to me that it is irrelevant Clinton is a woman.

I am happy my niece is thoughtful, concise and able to speak her opinion, even if she is misguided at this time. This is her first time voting for President.

Irrelevant? This election is HISTORIC for women! Clinton has endorsements from the last five presidents; and everyone agrees she is the most qualified for the job.

As women make up 53 percent of voting -age Americans, it is our time to take the White House (and Congress) and run this country with empathy and strength. Maybe take care of Americans instead of sending more low-income kids to war?

Irrelevant? Because Clinton is a woman it is very relevant; and we are half this country and it is high time for woman to hold this nation's highest honor.

Too bad my niece and other millennials don't take her 30+ years working for social reform into consideration as to why ALL women should vote for Clinton. Oh, and BTW, anyone can write 'facts' on Wikileaks.com. Believe me, as a former published Journalist for 30 years, Wikileaks should not be a source for information.

Two More Days. All our efforts may soon pay off.
